FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Seven students have been selected to serve on the Honors Student Board in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences at the University of Arkansas for the 2014-15 academic year.

The Bumpers College Honors Student Board is a registered student organization providing a student voice to the honors program. The board supports the program and director Curt Rom. Members are also involved with the Food for Thought Lecture Series, the Outstanding Honors Project/Thesis competition, and assist in recruitment, professional and leadership development, and networking activities.

The 2014-15 members are:

• Chris Sims, chair – agricultural business and poultry science, Lincoln.
• Christina Crowder, vice chair – food, human nutrition and hospitality with an emphasis in nutrition, Kiefer, Oklahoma.
• Kallie Sullivan – poultry science, Prairie Grove.
• Grace Heymsfield – food, human nutrition and hospitality with an emphasis in nutrition, Elkins.
• Taylor Farr – food, human nutrition and hospitality with an emphasis in dietetics, Proctor.
• Sam Goll – agricultural business, Fayetteville.
• Will Pohlman – pre-med, and animal science and biochemistry, Prairie Grove.

“I want to serve on the board to help honors students make decisions and provide more opportunities for them to excel and succeed,” said Pohlman, a junior who plans to specialize in pediatrics in medical school. “I hope to help bring more distinguished lecture guests to campus and provide additional opportunities to study abroad.”

“I want to pour back into a program that has done so much for me,” said Farr, who plans to focus on health through nutrition and agriculture in international settings. “I hope to give students opportunities to learn from innovators and world-changers, as well as provide interdisciplinary connections so students can advance their careers in ways outside the classroom.”
