Registration is open for this summer's sessions of Kidswrite and the newly named Teenswrite, formerly Kidswrite II, conducted on the University of Arkansas campus by the Northwest Arkansas Writing Project.

The writing project is based in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas.

Online registration can be done through the Global Campus website. Visit the calendar of events at https://secure.sceao.uark.edu/EventCalendar/default.aspx for the links.

Kidswrite takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, June 20-July 1. This summer marks the 13th year for the summer writing camp, 10 days packed with poetry, play writing, short story writing, illustrating, laughing and newsletter and anthology production. Cost is $160 and the deadline to register is June 13. The camp takes place in the ROTC Building, 775 W. Maple. Students will take several walking field trips to various locations on campus and hear from guest authors.

Kidswrite is open to students who have completed fourth, fifth, sixth or seventh grade. Instructors and co-directors are Brian Lee, Ellie Esry and Karen Johnson, local teachers who have completed the writing project's invitational program and been designated as teacher-consultants.

Teenswrite takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, July 25-29. It is uniquely designed for teens. Students' experience will be guided by questions designed to hone their own personal brand of creativity. Cost is $115 and the deadline to register is July 18.

Instructors and co-directors are Lee, Esry and Jon Medders.

Teenswrite is open to students who have completed eighth, ninth, 10th, 11th and 12th grades.
