Children's Health and Safety Conference at the Center for Continuing Education

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The 2008 Children’s Health and Safety conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at the University of Arkansas Center for Continuing Education located at 2 East Center Street on the downtown Fayetteville square.

Keith Vire of Arkansas Support Network, one of two keynote speakers will speak on “Promoting a Spirit of Independence and Self-Reliance: How can we encourage our children to take on the world while protecting them from it?”

 The second keynote speaker, Kelly Zega of Cox Communications, will give a talk titled “Take Charge! A Parent’s Roll in Safeguarding Kids Online.”

   Other subjects covered during the conference include ADD/ADHD, childhood obesity, the Watch Dog program, autism through a mother’s eyes, juvenile gang activity and child sexual abuse.
