New Student Affairs Video Welcomes Razorbacks to Campus

A new Welcome Video from the Division of Student Affairs gives Razorbacks a guided look at the people, programs and resources ready to support them, from their first day on campus to preparing for life after graduation.

Produced by UA Productions, the video features Student Affairs Vice Chancellor Jeremy Battjes alongside leaders from across the division. In just a few minutes, it introduces students to the wide range of support and opportunities available beyond the classroom: housing, wellness, student organizations, community engagement, basic-needs support and career preparation.

"When students arrive on campus, we want them to know there's an entire division dedicated to helping them succeed," Battjes said. "Our job is to make sure their essential needs are met so they can have those meaningful experiences and find their community - and ultimately prepare for whatever they dream of doing after graduation."

The video also captures a bigger part of the college experience: the friendships, organizations, service opportunities and personal growth that happen between classes.

"The moments students remember most often happen through friendships, involvement, personal growth and the connections that make a campus feel like home," Battjes said. "We want every Razorback to know they belong here and have a community behind them."

The Welcome Video also points students to key tools that can help them navigate campus life and get connected: the new Student Affairs Well-Being website serves as a hub for resources related to food, housing, health, emergency assistance, academic support and other services; and at HogSync, students can explore more than 300 student organizations, discover campus events and find involvement opportunities that match their interests.

UA Productions Director Scott Flanagan said the video offers new and returning students a simple starting point for discovering what's available and a reminder that they don't have to navigate college alone.

"The goal is to help students understand what the Division of Student Affairs is all about," he said. "That we're here to support them and help them make the most of their experience."
