Faculty can apply to attend two mentoring programs this fall that are offered by the Office for Faculty Affairs. Applications for the Bridge Program and the Mentoring Graduate Students Workshop are now open.

The Bridge Program is a mentoring program for new faculty to help them transition to the U of A. This program consists of two components: a six-session workshop series and recommended department-level onboarding for new faculty that includes best practices and uses an innovative, team-based approach. The fall workshops are scheduled every other week on Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning Aug. 27. Participants must attend all workshops to receive a badge of completion for this program. Learn more about the Bridge Program and apply by Aug. 14.

The Mentoring Graduate Students Workshop is an eight-session series that offers an informative way for all faculty to improve their mentoring skills.  The sessions provide faculty with suggestions on how to supervise, inspire, support and professionally develop their graduate student mentees. The fall workshops are scheduled every other week on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning Aug. 19. Participants must attend all sessions to complete the program. Learn more about the Mentoring Graduate Students Workshop and register by Aug. 7.
