The Office for Sustainability is excited to announce the expansion of the U of A Bicycle Library rental program. Made possible through a collaboration with UREC Outdoors and University Libraries, the Bicycle Library provides long-term, low-cost bicycle rentals to U of A affiliates. Introduced in the fall of 2025, this program aims to provide a means of alternative transportation to U of A affiliates, thus promoting active lifestyles, removing economic barriers related to transportation and encouraging greater success and satisfaction.
Over winter break, the Bicycle Library grew from 15 to 20 bicycles. This growth is thanks in part to those that donated their bike to the bi-annual Bicycle Roundup, hosted by the Office for Sustainability. Each bike has been refurbished through the help of on-campus partners and is ready to support your active transportation efforts.
Every Bicycle Library rental comes with a bike, a U lock, a helmet and a set of bike lights. Rental rates are only $25 per semester or $75 for the full calendar year. Interested renters can contact Emma at erarmend@uark.edu. For more information, visit sustainability.uark.edu.
