The University Libraries, in collaboration with the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards, the Honors College and the Division of Research & Innovation, is pleased to announce the publication of the latest edition of Inquiry: The University of Arkansas Undergraduate Research Journal (Volume 25, Issue 1).

The journal showcases outstanding research and creative scholarship by undergraduate students across a range of disciplines and is now available online at scholarworks.uark.edu/inquiry.

This year's issue marks an exciting milestone with the introduction of the Inquiry Best Paper Award, recognizing exceptional undergraduate research for its originality, rigor and contribution to its field. The Inquiry Editorial Board selected Haven Clements as the inaugural recipient of the award for her article, "Limb Regeneration in Damselflies Based on Developmental Stage," featured in the new issue. As part of the honor, Clements will receive a monetary prize sponsored by the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards.

"The Best Paper Award celebrates the high caliber of undergraduate research happening at the University of Arkansas," said Robert Ellis, managing editor of Inquiry and assistant director of the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards. "Haven's work stood out for its clarity, intellectual depth and the meaningful questions it addresses within her discipline."

Exceptional papers by recent graduate Megan Pesek and current undergraduate Emily Frey were also selected for publication in this edition from a competitive pool of submissions reviewed by expert faculty within their respective fields.

Founded in 1997, Inquiry provides a platform for undergraduate students to share their scholarly and creative accomplishments with the broader academic community. Each issue is peer-reviewed and edited by a multidisciplinary board of faculty and students dedicated to academic excellence and mentorship.

Students interested in submitting their work to future issues can find submission guidelines and deadlines on the Inquiry website.
