Engineering Education Conference Committee Invites Faculty, Students to Submit Papers
Would you like to share innovative teaching methods or ideas that you have developed for your classroom? In September, the U of A campus is hosting the 2025 American Society for Engineering Education Midwest Section Conference, a great venue for faculty and students to share education-oriented full papers, short papers or student posters.
"Educational innovation happens throughout the entire university community and not just among engineers, and we would like to invite the university community to join the conversation and submit papers related to best education practices," said Aysa Galbraith, conference chair and teaching associate professor in the First-Year Engineering Program.
The theme of the Sept. 14-16 conference is "Engineering Resilience: Building Skills for a Dynamic World," noting the meeting's goal of creating opportunities to explore the intersection of engineering resilience and educational innovation in adapting to changing student needs.
The deadline for paper and poster submissions is July 31, and full papers and student posters are eligible for monetary awards. More guidance and links for registration are available at the conference website. Conference registration is open to anyone, and those submitting papers, posters or attending the conference do not need to be members of the society.
Highlights of the conference include a keynote address by Noel Schulz, endowed professor at Washington State University Tri-Cities. She has been active for over 30 years in teaching, research and service at six universities and will speak on "Turbulent Waters: Navigating Change and Building Resilience in Yourself and Your Students."
