Bethany Stich to Give Distinguished Lecture on 'Intermodal Miracles and Maladies'

Bethany Stich, Ph.D., director of the Transportation Institute at the University of New Orleans, will give the Dan Flowers Distinguished Lecture 5:30-6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House, 491 N. Razorback Rd. in Fayetteville. Her lecture is titled "Intermodal Miracles and Maladies."

The Dan Flowers Distinguished Lecture is sponsored by the Mack-Blackwell Transportation Center and the Maritime Transportation Research and Education Center, also known as MarTREC.

Stich is a professor of planning and urban studies at the University of New Orleans. She holds a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech University in public administration and policy.

Stich's research is in Cuban trade, e-navigation integration, container on barge supply chain integration and liquefied natural gas development. Stich serves as a committee member for the Transportation Research Board's Freight Transportation Economics and Regulation and Best Practices for the Efficient Supply of Chassis for Transporting Intermodal Containers.
