Zeta Tau Alpha Run for the Ribbon 5K (Audie Rogers)

The Epsilon Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha at the U of A will host its annual Run for the Ribbon 5K on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 9-11 a.m. at the Zeta Tau Alpha house in Fayetteville.

The event supports Zeta Tau Alpha's national philanthropy, breast cancer education and awareness, and brings together students, families, alumni and members of the Northwest Arkansas community for a morning centered around an important cause.

Participants will complete a 5K route through the Fayetteville area, beginning and ending near the Zeta Tau Alpha house. Registration includes an event T-shirt, and prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, making the event an especially meaningful opportunity for the chapter to educate others, honor those impacted by breast cancer and encourage the community to come together in support of the cause.

Breast cancer affects approximately one in eight women in the United States during their lifetime, making awareness and education an important part of Zeta Tau Alpha's philanthropic mission. The Epsilon Chapter hopes the Run for the Ribbon 5K will not only raise awareness but also provide a way for the U of A and Fayetteville communities to show their support for survivors, families and individuals affected by breast cancer.

The Run for the Ribbon 5K is open to the U of A community and the public. Participants of all experience levels are encouraged to attend, whether they plan to run, walk or simply support the event.
