KUAF 91.3 FM, the U of A's NPR affiliate, kicked off its on-air fundraising week Monday, Sept. 23, aiming to close the gap on its $100,000 goal by Sept. 30. The station has raised $56,000 since its Fall Fundraiser 2024 began on Sept. 1, and now seeks community support on air to maintain its quality journalism and diverse programming across the region.

This marks KUAF's first fundraiser in more than 10 months, making it a critical time for listeners to support the programming they enjoy and benefit from daily. The station, celebrating over 50 years of service, remains a vital source of news, culture and community engagement for Northwest and west central Arkansas, eastern Oklahoma and southwest Missouri.

"I'm thrilled about the future of KUAF and all that we have planned," said Clint Schaff, who joined the station in July 2024 as the third general manager in its history. "We're not just maintaining the incredible legacy of KUAF, we're looking to expand our impact and engage with our community in new and exciting ways."

Schaff is enthusiastic about KUAF's future as well as the community's involvement with the station.

"To make this vision a reality, we need more folks to get involved," Schaff said. "Whether you've been a long-time listener or you're just discovering us, now is the perfect time to become part of the KUAF family. Your support this week is crucial in shaping the future of public radio in our region."

The station offers several ways for supporters to make an immediate impact:

  1. One-time donations at SupportKUAF.com
  2. Becoming a sustaining member with monthly contributions, providing ongoing support for KUAF's programming
  3. Issuing matching grant challenges during the on-air fundraiser, where donors can inspire others by matching their contributions

"Thanks to generous matching grant challenges by supporters of KUAF, there are opportunities all week for contributions to be instantly doubled, making this the perfect time to support KUAF," Schaff said.

KUAF impacts tens of thousands of listeners weekly with in-depth local news, national programs, music and community events. In 2025, the station is set to celebrate the 35th anniversary of its flagship program, Ozarks At Large. KUAF is focused on improving member and listener engagement across the listening area and enhancing its digital offerings to better meet the needs of listeners.
