Students learn more about study abroad opportunities at last year's Study Abroad Fair.

U of A students, faculty and staff can learn more about study abroad opportunities through a slate of events occurring on campus this month, kicking off with the Study Abroad Fair on Sept. 19. In addition, the U of A's Rome Center will host events the following week from Sept. 23-24.

Study Abroad Fair
The Kristen Collier Wright Office of Study Abroad and International Exchange is hosting a Study Abroad Fair from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Sept. 19 on the Union Mall. During this event, students, staff and faculty can discuss study abroad opportunities with office staff, alumni of study abroad programs and third party providers to learn more. The event will also include raffles and giveaways.

For more information, contact the Kristen Collier Wright Office of Study Abroad and International Exchange at studyabr@uark.edu.

Rome Center Events
In addition to the Study Abroad Fair, staff from the U of A Rome Center will host an information table at the Arkansas Union outside the food court from 9 a.m.-noon on Sept. 18, where they will have marketing materials and Rome Center swag for students interested in learning more about study abroad opportunities at the center.

Additionally, the Rome Center is hosting two informational events for students and faculty. A panel discussion with faculty members who have successfully taught at the Rome Center is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 23 in room 217 of Gearhart Hall for faculty members interested in teaching or conducting research in Rome. A panel discussion with students who studied at the Rome Center is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 in the Graduate Student Lounge of Gearhart Hall (room 206) for students interested in studying in Rome.

The Rome Center serves as a locale for study abroad experiences for U of A students. Students can study abroad at the Rome Center during the fall, spring and summer semesters with a variety of classes offered across the university's academic disciplines.

"Attending this event offers a unique opportunity for students to hear first-hand experiences from students and faculty who have studied, taught and researched at the Rome Center," said Francesco Bedeschi, director of the Rome Center. "It's a chance to immerse yourself in the rich cultural and academic experiences that studying in Rome provides, and to understand how it can profoundly shape your educational journey and future career. I encourage all students to take advantage of this event to explore the possibilities that await them in one of the most historically and culturally significant cities in the world."

For more information on the events, contact Lindsey Aloia, associate dean for International Education, at aloia@uark.edu. For more information on the Rome Center, visit their website.
