The Russian Conversation Table "The Nose"

The Russian Conversation Table "The Nose"
Nikolay Gogol' "The Nose," St. Petersburg

The Russian Conversation Table "The Nose" is an informal gathering for anyone interested in practicing speaking Russian and learning about Russian-speaking cultures.

"The Nose" will meet every other Tuesday from 5-6 p.m. in the World Languages Studio, J.B. Hunt 207, on these dates:

  • Sept. 17

  • Oct. 1 and 22

  • Nov. 5 and 12

The group takes its name from Nikolay Gogol's story "The Nose" about a gentleman in St. Petersburg who wakes up and realizes that his nose is gone. The nose becomes an independent fully-fleshed character of much higher rank than its owner, and it does not wish to recognize him.

Please come with your nose!
