Student Engagement Team: MADD 2022

On Saturday, Sept. 21, the Volunteer Action Center will host its annual Make a Difference Day: the single largest day of service at the U of A. This event offers students the opportunity to give back through volunteering with local nonprofit organizations.

Last year, Make a Difference Day generated over 1,000 service hours from over 400 volunteers, as well as over $30,000 in economic impact. The Volunteer Action Center hopes to make an even greater impact at Make a Difference Day 2024. Students who want to be a part of this event can sign up on GivePulse.

This year there are various volunteer events matching different interests and causes. Students can choose from over 12 projects hosted by local non-profit organizations, including the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks, Apple Seeds Farms, Habitat for Humanity, Ozark Mission Project and many more.

This event will kick off at 8 a.m. at the Arkansas Union Mall on the morning of Sept. 21. There will be free breakfast, snacks and coffee provided while volunteers arrive. It is recommended that volunteers wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.

Join the Volunteer Action Center at Make a Difference Day for a fun-filled day of community service. We hope to see you there on Sept. 21!
