The HPER Building renovation project is underway, and new changes are in place to assist in the construction process. The HPER Building will be open and operational throughout the renovation; however, starting Aug. 5, accessing recreation spaces and classrooms will be changing.

HPER BUILDING ENTRANCES & CLOSURES :

Starting Aug. 5, the west entry off the Meadow Street Parking Garage will re-open. The north entry of the HPER Building (Lot 302, previously known as 45A) will remain open throughout the project. Also, on this date, the east entry off Stadium Drive will close, and the HPER pool will be accessible through the entry off Meadow Street Drive.

UREC MAIN OFFICE & EQUIPMENT CHECKOUT RELOCATION:
The UREC main office and equipment checkout (formerly known as the Service Center) will be housed in UREC Outdoors (HPER 102), located on the 1st floor of the HPER Building. For questions or services, please visit in person during building hours, call 479-575-2267 or email urec@uark.edu.

HPER POOL:
The HPER pool will be open and operating throughout the renovation. Members will be able to access the pool through the entry off Meadow Street. Please note that locker rooms, showers and towel services will be unavailable during this time. However, there will be a public space to rinse off and a changing room available in the pool area for use.

FITNESS EQUIPMENT & FUNCTIONAL TRAINING SPACES:
All fitness equipment will continue to be available throughout the renovation. This equipment can be found in HPER Gym 1 (2nd floor) or the racquetball court hallway (1st floor). Additional workout spaces on the 1st floor including the functional training space, UREC Train Studio and the Cycle Studio will be available for use when classes are not in session.

ACADEMIC CLASSROOMS & RESEARCH SPACES:
Academic classes, offices and research spaces will continue in the HPER Building throughout the renovation. Classrooms (103, 311, 316, 318, 319 and 321J) will still be available for regularly scheduled academic classes. Additionally, these rooms will still be available to rent.

UREC PROGRAMMING:
All University Recreation + Wellness programming and offerings will be available during the renovation. UREC's auxiliary facilities - UREC Fitness Center in the Arkansas Union, UREC Sports Complex, UREC Tennis Center and the Tsa La Gi Bike Park - will be open and operational under normal business hours during the renovation.

"We are incredibly excited about this renovation and the progress that has already been made," said Kristin DeAngelo, executive director of University Recreation + Wellness. "It's amazing to see the students' vision come to life. We cannot wait to be a part of the positive impact this updated space will bring to the student body and University of Arkansas campus."
