Research and Scholarship Workshop for New Faculty to Be Held April 17

The Division of Research and Innovation and the Office for Faculty Affairs will host an inaugural Research and Scholarship Workshop for faculty hired at the University of Arkansas between fall 2019 and spring 2024. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, April 17, in the Arkansas Union room 514.

This unique workshop offers interactive opportunities for assistant professors, both tenure-track and non-tenure-track, who would like quick, deeper dives into various topics related to research/scholarship development/advancement, foundation relations, and faculty professional development.

The event will have nine stations that will be available between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.  Each station represents a potential area of interest for research/scholarship and offers tangible takeaways to help propel a faculty member's current and future research/scholarship initiatives.

Faculty can use the following link to register and reserve time at each station. The link will also include details about each station, name of the person(s) hosting the station, and items that attendees may need to prepare ahead of time. Please register by 5 p.m. Monday, April 15.

Margaret Sova-McCabe, vice chancellor for research and innovation, and Anna Zajicek, vice provost for faculty affairs, will deliver opening remarks starting at 1 p.m. in ARKU 514.

Faculty are encouraged to plan breaks between station attendance and use this time to network with colleagues. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be available throughout the event.
