Enrollment Services Continues Holiday Tradition of Giving
Staff in Enrollment Services this year continued a holiday tradition dating back to 2003 and helped raise nearly $3,000 in support for Children's House, a local non-profit.
EOA Children's House is one of the nation's largest long-term programs for child abuse prevention and treatment and the only program of its kind in Arkansas. Founded in 1978 by the Economic Opportunity Agency, Children's House is dedicated to helping local children under the age of 5 who have faced abuse, neglect or other adverse experiences.
Each year, staff in Enrollment Services raise funds to support children participating in EOA Children's House programs. Near the holiday season, the team members gather toys, gifts and other supplies to deliver to Children's House.
"Many of the families that EOA Children's House serves are below poverty level. They are struggling to pay their bills and put food on the table, which doesn't leave extra for holiday gifts," said Megan Cuddy, director of advancement for EOA Children's House. "Thanks to Enrollment Services at the U of A, each child received a brand-new toy for Christmas and laundry detergent for their family. We are so very thankful for this support."
"Supporting Children's House has long been an important part of our holiday traditions here in Enrollment Services," said Vice Provost Suzanne McCray. "We are grateful to have partners like this in Northwest Arkansas who are doing so much to support our communities and to help those in need. We are happy to play a small role in making the holidays cheerful for the families they serve."
Kathi Davidson, chief of staff for Enrollment Services, coordinates the unit's giving for EOA Children's House. For more information, or to learn about ways to support Children's House, visit them online or call (479) 927-1232.
