Bev Lewis acknowledges a crowd of Razorback supporters.

Bev Lewis served the University of Arkansas as a coach and director of Women's Athletics for more than 33 years. She led women's cross country and track and field to six top 20 national finishes and its first national team ranking.

In her role as director (1989-2007), Lewis championed excellence in the classroom, competition and especially, promoted women student-athletes. During her tenure, Arkansas added women sports programs in volleyball, golf, gymnastics, and softball. She also played a key role in the successful effort to unify women's and men's sports programs into one cohesive athletic program in 2008.
