Set Up Intune on University-Owned Devices

IT Services recently announced a plan to implement several new IT security initiatives aimed at protecting student, faculty and staff data. These efforts are focused on preventing individuals in the campus community from becoming victims of cybercriminals, protecting the institution as well.

One of these initiatives is ensuring all university-owned mobile devices, including Android/iOS smartphones and tablets, are set up within the Microsoft Intune mobile device management (MDM) system. MDM secures institutional data if the device is lost or stolen, improves asset tracking and reduces support requirements.

Setting up Intune can be completed with only a few steps and takes less than five minutes.

To get started, follow the steps for your device type:

Please note, this is only for university-owned devices. Personal, non-university owned devices do not need to be set up within Intune, but they are required to use Microsoft Outlook to access UARK email and calendar accounts.

Securing our campus community is an ongoing effort as cybercriminals continue to evolve their efforts. In this era of persistent cyber threats, our university can be secure only with the active participation of everyone. Simple steps like storing data securely in OneDrive, avoiding and reporting suspicious messages and keeping software updated can go a long way toward protecting our campus community online.
