Armed Forces Alumni Society Hosts Veterans Day Weekend Activities

EDITOR'S NOTE: Due to worsening weather conditions, the Veterans Day Celebration committee has canceled tonight’s event and will reschedule the event at a later date. To service members past and present, they committee thanks you for your service to the country.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Armed Forces Alumni Society encourages the campus community to help honor veterans during Veterans Day today. The society plans to host a Veterans Day Ceremony and Reception, at no cost to military veteran students, faculty, staff and alumni, on Monday, Nov. 11.

Pending a determination on weather safety, all military veteran students, staff, faculty and alumni are invited to attend a free Veterans Day Ceremony and Reception at 5 p.m. today, Monday, Nov. 11, at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House. Patriotic activities and guest speakers highlight the agenda. Hors d'oeuvres will be served. The Armed Forces Alumni Society is partnering with the Associated Student Government's Director of Veteran Affairs to host the event.

The faculty members successfully completed the Teaching Portfolio and will be recognized at the Fall Teaching Awards ceremony hosted by the Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center and the Teaching Academy.
