2019 Top 12 Homecoming Candidates Announced

The Associated Student Government, in conjunction with the Arkansas Alumni Association, announced the Top 12 Homecoming candidates at the Top 20 Homecoming Reception on Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Fowler House Conservatory. The event included remarks from Chancellor Joe Steinmetz, ASG Vice President Sadie Bryant, and Student Alumni Association representative Katie Gardner. In addition to the remarks, the Top 12 King and Queen candidates were announced and advanced in the search for the 2019 Homecoming King and Queen.

These students were recognized for their contributions to campus and the student body. The Top 12 candidates and their nominating registered student organizations are as follows:

These candidates proceeded to an interview process to select the Court of King and Queen candidates. The remaining candidates had a second and final interview to compete for a spot on the Homecoming Court at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House on Sunday, Oct. 13.

The Homecoming Court consists of the seven finalists for each of the two Homecoming titles. The 2019 Homecoming King's and Queen's Court will be announced Thursday, Oct. 24, at the annual Chancellor's Ball held at The Graduate hotel in downtown Fayetteville. Elections for Homecoming King and Queen will be conducted from 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, through 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, via asg.uark.edu/elections.

The court will appear in the Homecoming Parade on Friday, Nov. 1, and the Homecoming Queen and King will be announced at the Homecoming Pep Rally following the parade. The Homecoming Court will be honored at the Homecoming football game on Saturday, Nov. 2.
