Workshops Set to Raise Awareness About Disabilities in the Workplace

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance will host workshops in October to raise awareness about the accommodations available in the workplace. These sessions are intended for U of A staff, faculty and students to raise awareness as well as provide tools and resources pertaining to individuals with disabilities in the workplace.

• 9-10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22: Managing and Supporting Employees with Psychiatric Disabilities. This program will be livestreamed. Information about logging into the session will be provided to registrants the day prior to the session. Presenters: Diego Demaya, director of ADA Technical Assistance for the Southwest ADA Center.

•  1-3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25: The Fundamentals of Web Accessibility. This program will be livestreamed. Information about logging into the session will be provided to registrants the day prior to the session. Presenter: Joe Dolson from the WordPress accessibility team
