Workshops Set to Raise Awareness About Disabilities in the Workplace

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance will host workshops in October to raise awareness about the accommodations available in the workplace. These sessions are intended for U of A staff, faculty and students to raise awareness as well as provide tools and resources pertaining to individuals with disabilities in the workplace.

  • 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 — Substance Abuse and Alcoholism in the Workplace — This program will be livestreamed. Instructions for logging into the session will be provided to registrants the day prior to the event. Presenter: George Powers, J.D. legal specialist with the Southwest ADA Center.
  • 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30 — Requesting a Reasonable Accommodation — WAAX Room 11 and livestream Information about logging into the livestream session will be provided to registrants the day prior to the session. Presenter: Toya Williams, Associate Director/Compliance Officer, Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance.
