We're Not Monkeying Around: Doctoral Student Creates Blog to Share Interesting Primate Facts
Doctoral student Ashly Romero has started a blog series called Peculiar Primates as an outreach tool for the Terhune Lab in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences' Department of Anthropology.
Each month, the blog will feature a different primate with interesting traits. The first post is up now and details some fun facts and even better pictures of a small, regal primate with a great mustache — known as the emperor tamarin.
Romero said she wants this blog to engage people in learning about anthropology and primatology by illustrating some of the lesser known primates across the world. For kids and adults alike, she said her hope is that this blog can teach a little something to everyone.
Suggestions for the next post? Email Romero at anromero@uark.edu to tell her your favorite primate and why!
