Adventure Awaits You in Kazakhstan!
Discover Kazakhstan during this month's Holcombe Global Series.
The presentation starts at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, in Holcombe Hall's living room.
Askarbek Pazylbekov, an international student from Kazakhstan, will present on his culture, focusing on the country's history, traditions and food.
"I want people to learn about the way Kazakhstan and Kazakhstani people have influenced global history. According to some sources, horse riding was invented on Kazakh land," Pazylbekov said.
Kazakhstan is a central Asian country that reaches from the Caspian Sea in the west to the Altai Mountains at its eastern border. It is the world's largest landlocked country and it is rich in mineral resources.
"My favorite thing about Kazakhstan is that around 140 nationalities are living peacefully in one country. For instance, there are Kazakhs, Russians, Koreans and Ukrainians and all of these people were born on Kazakhstani land," Pazylbekov said.
This event is open to all within the university community. Attendees are encouraged to bring friends and engage with the presenters after the presentation.
Prior countries featured in the Global Series this academic year include India, Japan, Australia, Denmark, Tunisia, Mexico, Russia, Jordan, Moldova, and Pakistan.
