FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The U of A Division of Emergency Management and Washington County Department of Emergency Management are hosting a Storm Spotter Training class provided by the National Weather Service.  The free class requires no preregistration and is open to the public.  The training will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, in room 240 of the University Police headquarters at Razorback Road and Nettleship St.

Trained storm spotters across eastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas provide first-hand severe weather reports to their local officials and to the National Weather Service in Tulsa. The information provided by these dedicated individuals is used to make critical warning decisions during severe weather events.

To learn more about becoming a Storm Spotter, or for additional locations and times, please visit the National Weather Service.
