Metova CyberCENTS to Teach Certification Class in Cybersecurity
ROGERS, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Global Campus contracted with Metova CyberCENTS Inc. to teach a five-day cybersecurity workshop that ends with a nationally recognized certification exam. The workshop will run Feb. 19-23.
The cybersecurity Enterprise Network Defense Analyst course provides the basic knowledge and practical skills needed for cybersecurity personnel to defend, respond, report, mitigate and restore enterprise systems before, during and after an exploitation has occurred.
“The time to learn defense is not during or after an attack,” said Josh Smith, chief strategy officer for Metova CyberCENTS. “Security staff need training against real attack traffic before it happens to be completely prepared when it does.”
Metova CyberCents, founded in 2011, provides turn-key cyber operations solutions and has roots in network defense, cyber operations and cyber range/simulator platforms.
Workshop participants will engage with the same cyber range platform used by the U.S. Air Force, Army and Navy to train in detecting and defending against malicious events. They can take the National Institute of Standards and Technology Enterprise Network Defense Training Certificate exam on the last day of the workshop.
The cost is $1,999 for Arkansas residents and $2,400 for those living outside Arkansas, and participants can register online. Arkansas residents receive a discount because the workshop is supported in part by a grant from the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.
Participants take the National Institute of Standards Technology Enterprise Network Defense Training exam on the last day of class to earn the certificate.
An instructor from Metova CyberCENTS will teach theory, operation, defensive techniques, and corrective action instruction, using the cyber range platform.
The cybersecurity workshop is part of a new series launched in 2017 for up-skill training offered through the IT Readiness Program to help developers and technology professionals advance their careers. The deadline is Dec. 15 for entry-level certificate IT programs in back-end development, front-end development, Java and Mobile development training courses. Participants can apply online.
