New Opportunity for Graduate Students in STEM
When it's time to find a job, students with STEM degrees can get an advantage by developing the non-technical skills they need to succeed in the workplace, such as communication, project planning and management. A new program can help these students identify and build the skills they need.
The STEM Professional Awareness, Advancement, and Development, or PAAD, program provides graduate students with professional development activities and education, as well as access to industry, government and non-profit leaders. It includes a travel allowance for students to participate in job fairs, conferences, internships and other career-related outreach.
Online applications are open now through Nov. 17. All STEM graduate students are encouraged to apply. To learn more, visit nsfpaad.uark.edu and attend one of two upcoming information sessions. These 30-minute sessions will be held in Mullins 104:
- Oct. 23, 3 p.m.
- Oct. 24, 3 p.m.
