Swagerty Inducted into Mississippi Valley Technology Teacher Education Conference

Lindsey Swagerty, director of the Education Renewal Zone at the University of Arkansas, was inducted into the Mississippi Valley Technology Teacher Education Conference during the conference's annual convention Nov. 11 in Chicago.

The STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) teacher education association, founded in 1908, is recognized as one of the oldest and longest continuously operating professional education research societies in the United States. Tradition calls for new inductees to be drawn internationally from education professionals who exhibit noteworthy and exemplary leadership in the STEM fields and teacher education.

Swagerty was recognized for her leadership in elementary STEM education, STEM curriculum development, and teacher professional development and support. She was one of two new inductees into the conference during the 2016 conference. As an active member, she will be expected to present educational research at future conferences and preside over research sessions at the annual conference.
