U of A Graduate Receives Top Award from State Education Association

Gary Udouj Jr.

University of Arkansas graduate Gary Udouj Jr. of Fort Smith was named the 2015 Outstanding Arkansas Adult Education Administrator by the Arkansas Association of Continuing and Adult Education.

Udouj has been the director of adult education for the Fort Smith Public Schools since 2008. He earned a doctorate in adult and lifelong learning, a master's degree in adult education and a bachelor's degree in English, all from the University of Arkansas. He received the award for Outstanding Doctoral Student in Adult and Lifelong Learning from the College of Education and Health Professions last year.

He has served as chair of the Arkansas Adult Education Advisory Board and president of the Arkansas Association of Administrators of Adult Education.

Udouj is also an adjunct instructor for the U of A adult and lifelong learning program.
