Jamie Loftin, assistant vice provost for distance education administration, was named on the 2015 "Top 100 Under 50" list by Diversity MBA magazine.

A high-ranking administrator at the University of Arkansas Global Campus was named one of the "Top 100 Under 50" business leaders by Diversity MBA magazine for 2015.

The magazine selected Jamie Loftin, assistant vice provost for distance education administration, from more than 300 nominees from Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurs and nonprofit agencies across the nation. Honorees will be recognized at a conference in Oakbrook, Illinois, Sept. 16-18.

"These 100 movers and shakers were chosen in a highly selective process from all industries," Pam McElvane, CEO and publisher of Diversity MBA, said in a news release. "We are pleased that these companies and organizations have taken a strategic leadership role in the workplace to recognize and promote these leaders for their achievements in the workplace and community."

Loftin and other honorees will be featured in a future issue of Diversity MBA Magazine.

Loftin is responsible for accounting, human resources, technology and facilities at the Global Campus, where she began working in June 2014, after serving more than six years with the Sam M. Walton College of Business. In her current role, she works with units across campus to provide support for online, distance and continuing education programs.

"I am honored to be selected for an award which recognizes diverse leadership and to be part this group of leadership talent from a wide spectrum of industries," Loftin said. "The University of Arkansas has provided professional development, resource groups, and mentoring opportunities to me that allowed me to grow, personally and professionally, in my career.  I am proud to have worked as part of many diverse teams that are committed to achieving the same goal."

Javier Reyes, vice provost for distance education, said Loftin's recognition by the magazine also brings the University of Arkansas into the national spotlight for its commitment to diversity in the workplace.

"Jamie Loftin has shown her exceptional leadership abilities at both the Global Campus and Walton College," Reyes said. "The University of Arkansas is proud of her accomplishments, and we congratulate her for being selected among the top leaders in a national peer group."

This year's "Top 100 Under 50" honorees represent the magazine's most diverse list of nominees ever, according to the magazine's news release. Nominees come from 25 distinct disciplines and 15 industries.

Before joining the Global Campus, Loftin served as the assistant dean for finance and administration and director of accounting at Walton College.  In addition to spending the past almost eight years in higher education administration, Jamie worked in human resources, corporate accounting, and financial analysis for Arkansas Best Corporation (ArcBest) and Sparks Health System.

Loftin earned a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Finance from Arkansas State University in 1999 and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas in 2002.

Loftin recently earned a Senior Certified Professional designation from the Society for Human Resource Management. She is also a Certified Management Accountant and Certified Financial Manager.

Loftin was named one of the "Top Forty Under 40" by the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal in 2013 and was named "Employee of the Year" in 2009 by Walton College.

She is an active member of the University of Arkansas' Women's Giving Circle, a group who collectively determines how to use pooled resources to positively impact the U of A campus, with an emphasis on the enrichment of women's lives, through an annual grants and award process.

Loftin is a member of the Arkansas Alumni Association, Northwest Arkansas Mothers of Multiples Club, the Northwest Arkansas chapter of the Institute for Management Accountants, and a former member of Junior League of Fort Smith.  She is active in her church and children's parent-teacher association (PTA), and she supports the March of Dimes.
