University Access Talent Search Brings STEM Students to Campus

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Approximately 120 seventh- and eighth-grade students from McDonald County, Missouri will attend Campus Day 2014 at the University of Arkansas from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 20. University Access Talent Search at the U of A is hosting the event.

Students will see and hear presentations from the College of Engineering and the Institute for Nanoscience and Engineering, among others, about studies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, the so-called STEM fields.

The students will meet at Giffels Auditorium in Old Main, have a chance to explore the campus and learn about opportunities that await them as students at the University of Arkansas, before having lunch at the Arkansas Union Mall. 

University Access Talent Search is one of three Talent Search programs sponsored by Diversity Affairs under the umbrella of the U.S. Department of Education’s Federal TRIO programs. The programs promote college access, retention and graduation.
