Students Elect McFarland President of Associated Student Government
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — University of Arkansas students elected
Daniel McFarland president of Associated Student Government for 2014-15 in the
annual ASG election, which ended March 13.
A total of 1,456 students voted in the election. McFarland, of Keithville, La., is a junior majoring in animal science in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.
The other executive officers elected are:
- Amy May West of Saint Francisville, La., vice president. West is a junior majoring in agricultural business in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.
- Kelsey Furr of Van Buren, Ark., secretary. Furr is a junior majoring in social work in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences.
- Mike Wyse of Flower Mound, Texas, treasurer. Wyse is a junior majoring in finance in the Sam M. Walton College of Business.
- Ray Todd of Rockwall, Texas, chair of senate. Todd is a sophomore in business in the Sam M. Walton College of Business.
In addition, students approved three ASG constitutional referendum items, which will be submitted to Chancellor G. David Gearhart for his review and consideration.
ASG executive officers, senators, and Graduate Student Congress representatives will be sworn in on Friday, May 2 from 3-4:30 p.m. in the Verizon Ballroom in the Arkansas Union. The campus community is invited to attend.
