Students will attend one of three sessions, with two sessions left this summer the weeks of July 23 and 30.

The institute exposes these students to many aspects of college life including resident life, campus dining, academics, career workshops, fun activities and graduation. Academic units involved are the College of Engineering, Eleanor Mann School of Nursing, School of Human Environmental Sciences, department of geosciences, department of chemistry, D.E. King equine program and department of crop, soil, and environmental sciences. Graduation will take place in the Northwest Quad classroom at 10 a.m. July 27 and Aug. 3 for the respective sessions.

Kauffman Scholars is a comprehensive, multi-year program designed to help promising, yet challenged, low-income urban students in Kansas City prepare for and complete a college education. The program provides support to students beginning in seventh grade and works with students until they complete college. The Kauffman Scholars program is operated by Kauffman Scholars Inc., an independent nonprofit organization. The Kauffman Foundation is providing the initial funding and technical assistance to support the program.
