Story Submission Guidelines

We encourage submission of stories about faculty, staff and students, such as departmental honors, staff promotions and recognition of student achievements.

Stories submitted to Arkansas News are reviewed by editorial staff for potential inclusion on the news.uark.edu site and for potential distribution in the Arkansas News email. The university reserves the right to refuse submissions. Selected stories will be edited for style, punctuation, grammar and spelling. 

Submit news articles as early as possible (1-2 weeks ahead of desired publication date is ideal) and no later than by noon for consideration in the next scheduled news email. While desired publication dates are helpful for scheduling, some articles require a longer review process so actual publication dates vary.

Contact information is required and will be listed with published stories.

A story image, which is optional, should be a horizontal JPG or PNG image. The image size should be no less than 800 pixels wide. Text-heavy images are generally not allowed for the main image for a story submission. A general rule of thumb is that the details of your submission should be included within the story, not within the image.
