FINALISTS FOR PROVOST AND VICE CHANCELLOR FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS POSITION TO MEET WITH CAMPUS COMMUNITY DURING OPEN FORUMS

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. Ð Two finalists for the position of University of Arkansas Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs will be visiting with the campus community during respective visits June 7th and 10th.

The search committee for the position is hosting the forums to give the campus community an opportunity to hear each candidateÕs views on higher education, the role of a land-grant university and other issues of special interest or current concern. There will be opportunity for questions.

Dr. Claudia I. Mitchell-Kernan will be introduced to the campus at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 7, at Giffels Auditorium in Old Main. Mitchell-Kernan has been the vice chancellor for academic affairs and dean of the Graduate Division at the University of California, Los Angeles, since 1994. She is also a professor of anthropology and professor of psychiatry and biobehavioral Science.

Dr. Robert A. Kennedy will meet with the campus community at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 10, in Giffels Auditorium. Kennedy has been vice president for research and associate provost for graduate studies at Texas A&M University since 1992. He also is a professor of biology.
