Fiction Writer Bethany Edstrom And Poet Mary Stokes To Read At U Of A

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Fiction writer Bethany Edstrom and poet Mary Stokes, students in the University of Arkansas graduate programs in Creative Writing, will read from their work on Monday, April 1 at 8 p.m. in Giffels Auditorium in Old Main on the University campus.

Mary Stokes, a Georgia native, is a recipient of a Walton Fellowship in poetry and of a Lily Peter Fellowship for poetry. Her work has appeared in "Press," "The Laurel Review," "The Chattahoochee Review" and other magazines.

Bethany Edstrom holds a degree in English from Dartmouth College. While at the University of Arkansas, she has served as the publicity director for the MFA program’s reading series and as the director of the Arkansas Writers in the Schools program, and she has received four Lily Peter fellowships and a Walton Fellowship in fiction. Her fiction has appeared in "Timber Creek Review" and her poetry in "Slipstream," "Plainsongs," "The Chariton Review," "Beacon Street Review" and elsewhere.
