43 Faculty at U of A Rank Among World's Most-Cited Researchers

Faculty from across the University of Arkansas were recognized among the world's most-cited researchers in a recent annual ranking. 

The ranking calculates how often a researcher's work is cited as an expert source by other researchers. Researchers are included on the list if they are either among the top 100,000 or have a percentile rank of 2% or higher in their subfield. The rankings include an annual list based on citations from calendar year 2025 and a 'career' list based on citations from 1996 through the end of 2025. 

At the U of A, 43 faculty from the College of Education and Health Professions, the College of Engineering, the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences, the Institute for Integrative and Innovative Research, the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, and the Sam M. Walton College of Business made the annual list. 

The rankings are calculated by Stanford professor John P.A. Ioannidis using Elsevier's Scopus, a database of scientific citations in high-quality peer-reviewed academic journals. The most recent rankings were released in early October.
