A new semester brings new opportunities to connect, engage and remind students that they belong at the U of A!
As the campus community prepares for the spring semester, Transition Programs & Initiatives (TPI), within the Division of Student Affairs, is inviting departments, academic colleges, campus partners and registered student organizations to help bring Spring 2027 UARK Welcome Weeks, Jan. 18-29, to life.
Welcome Weeks is more than a series of events. It's an opportunity for the entire campus community to come together and create experiences that help students feel welcomed, supported and connected as they begin a new semester.
From opportunities to build friendships and explore campus resources to experiences that promote wellness, academic success, leadership and involvement, every corner of campus has something meaningful to contribute.
And that's what makes Welcome Weeks special!
"We know that a student's sense of belonging doesn't happen by chance. It's built through intentional experiences, meaningful interactions and a campus community that demonstrates, in both big and small ways, that every student matters," said Jerrod Lockhart, director of Transition Programs & Initiatives. "When we bring our creativity, resources and commitment to student success together, we have an incredible opportunity to make the start of the semester something students don't just attend but truly experience."
TPI encourages campus partners to think creatively about how their departments and organizations can contribute to the Welcome Weeks experience. Whether through an engaging workshop, a community-building activity, a cultural celebration, a wellness initiative or a new opportunity for students to get involved, every experience can help strengthen the connections that make the U of A feel like home.
The invitation is simple: help us create a Welcome Weeks experience that reflects the energy, diversity and spirit of our Razorback community!
