The U of A is fortunate to welcome more than 70,000 visitors onto campus during home football games. To help accommodate visitors and create the best possible game day experience, the university requires many parking areas to be cleared Friday night by 11:59 p.m. before home games.
Individuals who park in lots indicated in red on the football parking vacate map will be affected. This includes all Relocate (brown) lots as well as several Faculty/Staff (yellow) lots, Faculty/Staff Reserved (blue) lots, Commuter (green) lots and parts of certain parking garages. Vehicles that are not vacated on time will be relocated to the Baum-Walker west parking lot and cited.
Students with Resident (purple) permits do not need to vacate those areas before games.
Starting three hours before kickoff, most of core campus will be limited to only gameday parking-credentialed vehicles. Police will turn away vehicles without gameday parking credentials, so it is recommended Resident lot permitholders leave their vehicle in or avoid returning to their lot until after the game starts.
Students who must move their vehicles are encouraged to use Lot 500 and may move their vehicles back to the main campus after each game.
Transit and Parking Services will host "tailgating" events in Lot 500 every Friday before home games from 5-7 p.m. to encourage students who need to move their car to do so. Each event will have food and drinks available for student permitholders.
