UAConnect, SAS Data Warehouse Systems to Be Retired Jan. 31; Data to be Archived

UAConnect and the SAS Data Warehouse will be retired on Jan. 31, 2027. This change reflects the U of A's transition to Workday as the primary information system for students, Human Resources, and related administrative reporting.

What's Changing?

UAConnect

After Jan. 31, 2027, UAConnect and its associated PeopleSoft application components will no longer be available.

Historical UAConnect data will be stored in an archived environment. Users who need access to legacy data will have two options:

• Request access to archived data resources, subject to review and approval based on business need.  Review and approval will be completed by the Workday Student team.

• Submit a data request for specific data sets, time periods or reports needed from the archived environment.

For most users, historical and current reporting needs should be met through available Workday reporting and analytics tools.

SAS Data Warehouse

Connections to the SAS Data Warehouse will be disabled on Jan. 31, 2027. After that date, users will no longer be able to access data stored through SAS Data Warehouse connections.

Please note:

• Only access to the SAS Data Warehouse data environment is being retired.

• Existing SAS software licenses will remain available and may continue to be used on university-owned computers.

The U of A is currently working to migrate legacy Safari and Basis data from the SAS Data Warehouse into the archival environment that will house historical UAConnect data.

In addition, Basis data will be maintained in a separate database. Access to this data will be reviewed and managed through Human Resources. Additional information regarding access and approval will be shared as details are finalized.

What Should Users Do?

Users currently relying on UAConnect or SAS Data Warehouse data should begin planning for the transition now.

For the vast majority of reporting needs, Workday reporting tools should be used going forward. Users who anticipate needing access to historical data after Jan. 31, 2027, should watch for additional information regarding archive access and data request procedures, which will be communicated a later date.
