Get ready for a night of singing, games, mocktails and more during SEAR Karaoke Night on Friday, Aug. 28, hosted by the Substance Education, Assessment & Recovery (SEAR) program. The free event kicks off at 7 p.m. on the Union Mall offering students a chance to show off their singing skills during a sober night of fun.
"As the new school year begins, we really want to create an evening where students can get together in a safe, welcoming setting," said Isabel Taylor, SEAR collegiate recovery program coordinator. "We're ready to take song requests and have created a space for dancing. And of course there will be karaoke. We're also excited to debut several new mocktails and share the recipes with students so they can recreate them at home. If you're not ready to get on stage - that's OK. We'll have games to enjoy, too."
Students can register on HogSync before the event or check in when they arrive that night. In addition to activities, SEAR will have information about what it means to Stay RazorSharp and how the S.T.A.R. pillars can help students: stay safe, take care of yourself, address misconceptions and reduce stigmas.
