Staff Senate Announces Fall Scholarship Recipients

The U of A Staff Senate is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026-2027 Staff Senate Scholarships. These scholarships recognize and support U of A staff members who are continuing their education and working toward their undergraduate or graduate degrees.

Thanks to the continued support of campus administration and the greater university community, the Staff Senate Scholarship Program continues to positively impact the lives and educational journeys of U of A staff members. For the 2026-2027 academic year, 11 scholarships were awarded.

The 2026-2027 scholarship recipients are:

• Rick A. Haley Memorial Scholarship: Danielle Dunn
• Valerie Pryor Memorial Scholarship: Carmen Burasco
• Barbara G. Taylor Scholarship: Nakell Baker
• Susan Imes Yell Scholarship: Weston Ogden
• General Staff Senate Scholarships: Adrianna Carter, Melissa Flores, Jonathan Langley, Allison McBride, April McDowell, Wayne Pishue and Tosha Russell

Congratulations to all of this year's scholarship recipients. The Staff Senate is proud to support these outstanding staff members as they continue their educational pursuits.

The Staff Senate offers several scholarship opportunities for degree-seeking U of A staff members pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees at the U of A. Available scholarships include the Barbara G. Taylor Scholarship, Rick A. Haley Memorial Scholarship, Susan Imes Yell Scholarship and Valerie Pryor Memorial Scholarship. Scholarships are awarded twice each year for either the full academic year (fall and spring semesters) or the spring semester only, with recipients receiving $250 per semester. The number of scholarships awarded and the amount distributed are determined annually by the Staff Senate based on available funding.
