The U of A public transit service, Razorback Transit, is boosting its services to the Fayetteville community with the addition of Route 27, beginning Aug. 1.
Route 27 will run the length of College Avenue, ranging from as far south as Center Street to as far north as the Northwest Arkansas Mall.
The route has been served by Ozark Regional Transit for the last several years.
Under Razorback Transit's management, service will remain at the newly-increased frequency of every 30 minutes, emphasizing the university and the city's dedication to providing the best public transit solutions to the community. The operating hours of the route will also be extended, running from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. during peak service, Monday through Saturday.
The route will bring riders onto campus for the first time with a stop at the Harmon Avenue Parking Garage, creating another essential connection between Fayetteville and the U of A.
College Avenue serves as Fayetteville's primary north-south corridor, connecting major destinations including downtown, the U of A, employment centers, retail districts and the Uptown area. Travel time from downtown to the mall is approximately 20-25 minutes.
The service improvements and improved rider experience are part of the City's broader investment in mobility and sustainability, driven directly by Mayor Molly Rawn. This includes a 40% increase in public transportation funding in 2026 and a commitment to adding covers and benches at all bus stops in Fayetteville by 2028. Crews have already installed covers on five stops, which have been upgraded this year, with a total of 174 planned across the system.
