Emily Money has been promoted to director of development for Student Affairs, effective Aug. 3. In this role, she will lead philanthropic efforts that strengthen programs and resources supporting student success at the U of A.
"Student Affairs has an extraordinary impact on students every day, helping them grow, find community and make the most of their time at the U of A," Money said. "I'm excited to work alongside the Student Affairs team and connect alumni and friends with opportunities to support programs that make such a meaningful difference in students' lives. It's an incredible opportunity to build on that work and continue serving the University of Arkansas in a new way."
"Emily is an exceptional relationship-builder and has a deep commitment to student success," said Scott Varady, vice chancellor for advancement. "With her experience and ability, we are confident that she will have a positive impact on the Division of Student Affairs and our students."
Money succeeds Loria Oliver, who was recently appointed senior director of philanthropic initiatives to help lead the university's Land of Opportunity Scholarship initiative.
"Emily has demonstrated an ability to work with alumni and friends of the university to realize philanthropic opportunities to benefit students," said Jeremy Battjes, vice chancellor for student affairs. "I'm looking forward to Emily building on the foundation that Loria established and continuing to increase annual giving and support to the Division of Student Affairs."
Money joined the U of A in 2008 and has served in advancement leadership roles supporting corporate and foundation relations, the School of Law, the Central Arkansas Advancement Office and, most recently, as senior director of engagement. In that role, she provided leadership for the university's annual giving program while strengthening philanthropic engagement and donor participation across the institution.
"Emily's leadership has elevated our annual giving program and expanded the impact of the Women's Giving Circle," said Amy Linimon, associate vice chancellor. "Those accomplishments are matched by the kindness she has brought to the Office of Engagement and ability to make everyone around her feel valued. We're excited to continue working with her in this new role and know she will be an outstanding addition to the Division of Student Affairs."
Money holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism with a minor in marketing from the U of A, is a life member of the Arkansas Alumni Association and a Kappa Kappa Gamma Northwest Arkansas Alumnae Association member.
