Bumpers College Names Timby to Student Records/Enrollment Position, Adds Advisers

Donia Timby has been named assistant director of student records and enrollment for U of A's Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.

A two-time graduate of the college, Timby earned a bachelor's degree in 1999 and a master's degree in 2004 in human environmental sciences.

She joined the faculty in 2018 as an instructor in human development and family sciences and was promoted to senior instructor in 2023. Throughout her tenure, she taught HDFS courses, advised students and mentored honors students.

Human development and family sciences is offered through the School of Human Environmental Sciences, which is housed in Bumpers College.

She filled the position opened when Jody Davis retired in May after nearly 40 years in different roles with Bumpers College.

"What drew me to this role is the opportunity to continue serving students on a larger scale," Timby says. "As a faculty member and adviser, I saw firsthand how important enrollment, records and graduation processes are to student success. Helping students reach graduation has always been one of the most rewarding parts of my work, and this position allows me to continue supporting that goal while working with faculty and staff across the college. Jody Davis built a strong foundation of service and student support, and I'm excited to build on her work and help ensure students continue to have a positive experience from enrollment through graduation."

In her new role with the college's student services team in the Waldrip Student Center, Timby oversees enrollment monitoring and graduation clearance for all undergraduate students. She also supports the Waldrip Center advising team as it transitions to a comprehensive advising model serving the majority of the college's undergraduate population.

With the transition to a comprehensive advising model, Anson Andrews and Stephen Baldridge have joined the college as advisers. Both were previously with Northwest Arkansas Community College, Andrews as an enrollment adviser and Baldridge as academic adviser.

Andrews, from Alexandria, Louisiana, earned his bachelor's in secondary education (2013) and his master's in English literary studies (2016), both from the University of Louisiana-Monroe. He started working at NWACC in 2024. He will work with students in crop science; environmental, soil and water science; horticulture, landscape and turf sciences; and human development and family sciences.

Baldridge, from Little Rock, earned his bachelor's in French and European studies from the University of Kansas in 2005 and his master's in hospitality from the U of A and Bumpers College in 2013. He will work with students in food science; hospitality management; food, nutrition and health; and human nutrition and dietetics.
