Still searching for the perfect fall course? Discover WLLC 3980V-007, Mapping Taste: Identity through European Food Culture.
This engaging, team-taught course brings together three WLLC faculty members — professors Ryan Calabretta-Sajder (Italian), Kathleen Condray (German) and Rachel TenHaaf (Spanish) — to explore how food connects to identity, history and culture across Europe. Through a dynamic mix of historical texts, films, literary works and tastings, students will examine how culinary traditions reflect political histories and shape cultural narratives.
Meeting Wednesdays from 4:15-6:45 p.m., this three-credit course offers a unique, interdisciplinary way to explore European cultures — perfect for students interested in food, culture and storytelling.
Have questions? Feel free to contact Calabretta-Sajder at calabret@uark.edu. When registering, make sure to enroll in three credits.
