Forty-five supply chain management majors from the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the U of A were inducted this spring into the Sigma Chi Mu Tau Honor Society.
Sigma Chi Mu Tau is an honor society dedicated to recognizing outstanding juniors, seniors and graduate students in supply chain management, as well as educators and professionals who have demonstrated dedication and meaningful contributions to the profession.
Membership is open to students who maintain an overall cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 on a 4.00 scale and meet the following criteria:
- Juniors ranked in the top 10% of their class and who have completed at least 70 credit hours at the time of induction.
- Seniors ranked in the top 20% of their class and who are within one year of graduation at the time of induction.
- Graduate students who have completed at least 50% of their MBA requirements and rank in the top 30% of their class.
- Doctoral candidates who have completed their required coursework.
"Sigma Chi Mu Tau believes academic excellence should be a top priority for every supply chain management major and was created to recognize the importance of scholastic achievement," said Donnie Williams, associate professor in the J.B. Hunt Transport Department of Supply Chain Management. "We are proud to welcome these students into the premier supply chain management honor society in the world."
