One Day, One U of A Surpasses $273,000, Building Momentum in Second Year

The U of A community came together April 9 for the second year of One Day, One U of A, raising more than $273,000 in support of 31 projects across campus in just 24 hours.

The annual giving initiative—reintroduced last year with a new identity and project-based approach, continues to gain traction, with this year's results reflecting significant growth. More than 830 donors made over 1,100 gifts, marking a 35% increase in donors and a 51.7% increase in total dollars raised compared to the inaugural year.

Twenty-two projects reached full funding, supporting initiatives across academic programs, student support services, experiential learning opportunities and campus life. Some projects also benefited from matching gift challenges, helping accelerate momentum throughout the day.

"What I love about One Day, One U of A is how our community shows up with intention," said Stacy Glover, associate director of annual giving. "People support the projects that matter to them, and that collective effort makes a real difference for our students and across campus at the end of the day. Seeing that impact grow this year really speaks to the momentum we're building and the opportunity ahead for what this can become next year and beyond."

The day's success reflects continued collaboration across campus, with faculty, staff and students leading project efforts and engaging their networks to drive support. One Day, One U of A was designed to give supporters the opportunity to be the beacon by funding specific areas of interest while contributing to broader university priorities. From student emergency funds and academic programs to experiential initiatives, the projects highlighted the breadth of impact made possible through collective giving.

Gifts are still being accepted through the One Day, One U of A After Party, allowing additional support for projects.
