GPSC 2026-2027 Spring Election Applications Due Tuesday

The Graduate Professional Student Congress (GPSC) is pleased to announce that applications for the 2026-2027 Spring Election are now open. Available positions include:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Chief Justice
  • At-Large Representatives

All graduate students in good academic standing with their respective colleges and who will remain enrolled through the spring 2027 semester are eligible to apply for the vice president, secretary and at-large representative positions, provided they are students within the corresponding college. The positions of president, treasurer and chief justice are open only to graduate students who have previously served within GPSC, either as a member of the Executive Committee or the GPSC Assembly (DSO or at-large representative).

GPSC serves as the official voice of graduate and professional students on campus, advocating for their interests and fostering a supportive academic environment. Holding a leadership role within GPSC offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in governance, advocacy and organizational leadership. Each position provides valuable skill-building opportunities:

  • President - Develops and enhances strategic leadership, organizational management and high-level decision-making skills.
  • Vice President - Gains expertise in program planning, data collection and analytical reporting.
  • Secretary - Strengthens skills in marketing, communication and record-keeping.
  • Treasurer - Builds proficiency in financial management, budgeting and fiscal responsibility.
  • Chief Justice - Develops analytical reasoning, critical thinking and impartial decision-making abilities.
  • At-Large Representative - Enhances advocacy, leadership and public representation skills while serving as a voice for their fellow graduate students.

Election Timeline

Applications are now open on HogSync and will remain available until March 31 at midnight. Once applications close, all candidates will be reviewed for eligibility. Candidate orientation will be at 3 p.m. April 1. Candidates will be notified of their status by April 4. Candidate Debates will be at 5 p.m. April 8 (location to be announced).

  • Campaigning Period: April 6 - 10
  • Voting Opens: April 14 at 9 a.m.
  • Voting Closes: April 16 at 4 p.m.
